Manufacturing Sustainability In Our Sourcing Of Timber

Chain Of Custody Is King

At L’Atelier Mata, we’re passionate about responsible sourcing and sustainability. That’s why we work exclusively with family-run sawmills that prioritise manufacturing sustainability practices and responsible land management. By selecting timber from these environmentally conscious sawmills, we’re able to create stunning furniture pieces that showcase the natural beauty and unique character of each piece of wood, while also minimising our impact on the environment.

We’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint and preserving the natural habitats and biodiversity of the forests from which our timber is sourced. Our dedication to responsible sourcing practices and sustainability is a reflection of our values of environmental consciousness, accountability, and social responsibility. We take pride in the fact that our furniture is not only beautiful and of the highest quality, but also reflects our commitment to doing what’s right for the planet and future generations.

Sustainability At The Workshop

Promoting A Circular Economy

We prioritise sustainability in production practices at our workshop. Our commitment to minimising waste and promoting a circular economy is evident in every step of our production process.

We carefully select sustainable materials that are renewable, non-toxic, and ethically sourced to reduce our environmental impact. Our production methods are efficient and sustainable, resulting in furniture pieces that are built to last with a focus on durability and timeless design.

We strive to minimise waste by repurposing or recycling excess materials throughout the production process. Our commitment to zero waste extends beyond production – we use eco-friendly packaging materials and work with local partners to reduce transportation emissions and support sustainable supply chains.

Our zero waste and sustainable production practices not only reduce our environmental impact, but also create furniture pieces that are truly timeless and built to last. We believe that by choosing sustainable and beautiful furniture, customers can make a positive impact on the world while adding a stunning addition to their homes or businesses.

Our Small Contribution: A Woodland Where We Can Give Back

Ancient woodlands have a special place in our heart. That’s why we have a few acres in which to give back.

At our forest, we are passionate about the preservation of ancient woodlands. As caretakers of this unique ecosystem, we are committed to nurturing and protecting the biodiversity of the forest to ensure its long-term survival.

Our approach to maintaining the natural balance of the forest involves careful management practices, such as selective logging, coppicing, and pollarding. These methods encourage the growth of different tree species, create new habitats for wildlife, and promote overall health of the woodland ecosystem.

We also recognise the importance of limiting human disturbance in the forest. By restricting access to sensitive areas, minimising noise and light pollution, and removing any waste or litter, we can protect the natural environment and promote healthy growth of the forest.

As part of our dedication to environmental preservation, we also aim to promote public education and awareness of the importance of ancient woodlands. By raising awareness of the unique value of these ecosystems, we can inspire others to respect and protect them.

We believe that our stewardship of the forest is an important way to give back to the world and help preserve its natural beauty for future generations.
